The Hunter’s Taxidermy
Pricing

Price List.

Every mount is its own job - we quote each piece by species, pose, and finish. Drop-offs require a completed invoice sheet and a 60% deposit.

Step 1 · Enquire

Contact for prices.

Send a few reference photos of your animal, the pose you have in mind, and the look you're after. John Louw will get back with a written quote.

Step 2 · Before You Drop Off

The invoice sheet.

A completed The Hunter’s Taxidermy invoice sheet is required for every drop-off - no exceptions. Pick one up at the studio or download below, and please fill out the highlighted yellow sections.

Drop-Off Checklist

  • Completed invoice sheet (yellow sections filled in).
  • 60% deposit, before any work begins.
  • Trophies tagged and identified by hunter and species.
  • Field-care notes if relevant - see the field-care PDF.

A note on the law.

Federal law protects songbirds, raptors (eagles, hawks, owls), and many non-game species. We can only mount legally taken game birds with the proper licensing. When in doubt, ask before you bring it in.

Common Questions

Before you call.

How much does taxidermy cost?

Pricing depends on species, size, pose, and condition of the animal, so we provide a custom written quote for every project rather than publish a fixed price sheet. Send a few reference photos when you reach out and we will come back with a number - final pricing may vary based on custom requests, habitat scenes, or repair work.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A deposit is required to begin work and secure your spot in our production schedule. The remaining balance is due upon completion before pickup or shipping.

Can you work with animals harvested out of state or country?

Yes, but additional costs may apply for shipping, permits, and handling depending on regulations.

What happens if I don’t pick up my mount?

Completed mounts must be picked up within a specified timeframe. Storage fees may apply after that period.

Is shipping available?

Yes. We can arrange secure shipping. Costs vary based on size, weight, and destination.

Have something specific in mind?
